Learning 2.0 Experience

I really enjoyed doing this. It's great to learn anytime, and it's wonderful to have a job position where you can learn as you work. 2.0 is a whole new world that was foreign to me, but now is becoming familar. I'm happy to be in touch with what is going on in the world on the web. Once I was sitting in Starbuck's as some young people sat directly in front of me talking about their myspace accounts. Before I wouldn't have understood anything, but now I could!! And with these teens and preteens coming into the library we all need to be in touch with with they're doing on the computers. Also, with google librarian and google teacher coming into play--all add based accounts--it's important for the library with their expensive pre-screened, reliable databases to be their for the public to use. I just wish the public could distinguish between the library and google. And it's really crucial for the library with it's databases to be in important in the life of all people, especially the young.

Overall, I thought the format was great. It was simple and easy to understand and an easy way to learn. At first I read everything thoroughly, then learned I had to skim and go faster because it was taking too much time. Yes, I would love to see similar training opportunities. Yes!! I'd participate in the program again.

And once again, if this posting doesn't read as well as it could (misspellings, etc.) it's because we're busy and, as much as I LOVE learning I'm trying to get back to the job.

Favoriets?? Flicker, anything to do with videos, music. The feeds, library thing--just come to mind without going back to look at my notes. I like My Space, and blogging, although I don't know if My Space would be right for me.
